A Twist of Lyme by Andrea H. Caesar
Technological advances in medicine have made it easier to understand and diagnose Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. The author of this book has been suffering from chronic Lyme disease since the age of 11, but she wasn’t actually diagnosed until the age of 36. This is a chronicle of her physical and mental struggle during diagnosis and treatment, including frustrating encounters with doctors who refused to accept the disease’s existence. It is a moving story full of empathy and hope for anyone who has also been affected by the disease.
