Our "Country Getaway" is only 35 miles from our Buffalo NY home, so we visit it frequently (sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for a few days). Anytime we are there, we feel like we are "on vacation". We love the serenity of the woods - It's WONDERFUL !

I have a 2 bed & loft regular small cabin. I enjoy seeing what others have done with theirs. I've seen spectular large homes with amazing wooden features. It doesn't take a lot to make them look good. It is nice to see how others have worked with their smaller cabins, I can get realistic ideas.

Yes, I agree, cabins should be just that Cabins. We lived in huge homes on huge properties, now own a small 80 year old cabin in the SoCal mountains, her bones are good, however, everything else needs to be replaced, which we are doing now...I live close to Lake Arrowhead , Ca and all you see are these huge castles, choking out the smaller quaint cabins. So sad. We live here and love the quietness...just beautiful

I agree with Connie..."Cabins" should be "Cabins" and not giant homes regardless of what they are made out of. We head Up "Nort" to relax and lead a simpler life. I can certainly respect those who do enjoy the larger homes BUT I'd also like to see more on leading a more simpler lifestyle as well.

The more common cabin, cottage, lake home, or what ever one likes to call their place is more to my liking. I am always impressed with how crafty and creative people get when they have under 1000 sqft to work with on a new or remodeled project.
