The Heinrichs complemented their retreat with a 700-square-foot addition and a new 15x30-foot deck to replace the existing one measuring 6x12 feet.

The cover story for the June 2013 issue of Cabin Life is about a cabin on the Blue River in Silverthorne, Colo. Owners Brad and Mary Heinrich, who both come from large Kansas families and love to entertain, knew that they needed more space for cabin guests. So they added on a dramatic new living room, getting plenty of help from professional designers and artisans (listed below). The result was a stunning retreat with many rustic elements, the perfect backdrop for their daughter Camille's wedding reception less than a year later.

As a website exclusive, subscribers get to view these additional photos and floor plans of the renovated getaway. Enjoy!
