What you need:

  • 1/2 cup sweet butter
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Next:

1. Preheat over to 325° F. Butter and flour an 8 x 8-inch pan.

2.Melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring often, until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool.

3. In mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, vanilla, cooled chocolate, and beat like mad (Granny’s words).

4. Sift flour and baking soda, then gently fold into chocolate mixture. Stir in walnuts.

5. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into 16 small squares.
