Candied Lemon Ginger Summer Shandy

  • 1 six-pack of Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy
  • 1 six-pack of real ginger beer (non-alcoholic) *
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 thin slices of lemon
  • 2 ounces ginger liqueur
  • 4 ounces fresh lemonade
  • 4 ounces egg whites
  • 5 dashes lemon bitters

? Boil water and sugar. Add lemon slices. Boil until slices become slightly transparent.

? Remove slices and coat in fine sugar while still warm.

? Divide Summer Shandy and ginger beer equally between 12 glasses.

? Combine remaining four ingredients and whip until foamy, add to top of shandy and ginger beer mixture, top with lemon slice.
    
* Ginger beer is not actually beer as in hops and alcohol, but it is an authentic and flavorful non-alcoholic brewed beverage, like root beer.
