Like many log cabins, the home started with a stock plan – Timberhaven’s 1,300-square-foot Valley View 1, which features three bedrooms, two baths and an open floor plan. From there, the home- owner made several customizations: adding a long front porch, opening the living and dining areas to each other, including a walkout basement and moving the master suite to the second floor.
The floor-to-ceiling stone replace anchors the great room area, which features an eye-grabbing king post truss – set off in dark stain. Open white-pine stairs lead to a loft area and the master suite. Outside, another timber truss accents the gable roof overhang and provides sheltered outdoor space to entertain. And the party can easily spill over to a large built-in outdoor replace and patio
area. See also Cabins: Contemporary to Classic
