Sheds are no longer just for storing tools and cabin toys. From "she-sheds" to small backyard woodshops, these small spaces are smartly transformed into much, much more than a humble storage space. To get some ideas flowing, we chatted with the creative folks at Home Depot, who now have a shed design tool. They offered up more than a few ideas to customize your shed into a personal sanctuary, whether that’s a yoga studio or hobby house. Check them out below!
A "Hangout Hut"
Send your teenagers to their own space to “get away” without having them too far out of sight. Deck out the shed with beanbag chairs, a television, board games, snacks and even Wi-Fi for a cozy, inviting space.
For a more refined reading room, install a sleek shed (like one from Tuff Shed) adorned with a punchy chandelier, books, refreshments and comfy couches that will keep both kids and adults happy, safe and entertained within a stone’s throw of the house.
