A new movement is emerging that encourages people to slow down and appreciate the simplicity of a comfortable and cozy setting. We’re talking about Cabincore.

Cabincore is an aesthetic that celebrates cabin life and all that comes with it. This means appreciating a world outside of the city and enjoying the simple things. Fans of cabincore spend their weekends heading to the lake, woods or mountain towns. They make their way to dwellings like A-frames, Scandinavian-style cabins and log homes. They aren’t looking to spend their time in shopping malls or at fancy restaurants. Instead, they want to be outside picking flowers and eating a home-cooked meal over a fire.

Does this sound like you? Well then, let’s dive deeper into what it means to live a cabincore lifestyle.

Style

When it comes to clothing, cabincore emphasizes comfort and layering that complements outdoor activities. Think flannels, giant sweaters, wool coats and chunky scarves for winter. Summer looks more like hiking shorts, national park t-shirts and beanies. Once you learn the defining traits, it becomes easy to identify a cabincore enthusiast even from afar.

Activities

Cabincore fans like spending their days in nature and their nights back at the cabin. These individuals tend to be adventurous and possess a wandering spirit. They like to hike, kayak, pick wildflowers, camp and stargaze in the warmer months. In the winter, they can be found snowshoeing, skiing and roasting marshmallows over a fire. You’ll catch them reading, baking and watching movies with lots of plush blankets when indoors. Again, comfort and coziness are key.

Design and Architecture

Cabincore architecture tends to be rustic and comfortable. Natural materials, earthy colors and cozy furnishings are attributes seen inside these buildings. Some popular elements include stone fireplaces, built-in bookshelves, vintage linen and wooden accents. Large windows are important.

Cabins tend to be somewhere visually stunning in nature, and cabincore lovers want access to these views. And when views aren’t enough, the outside is brought indoors with dried flowers, landscape paintings and woodland creature motifs.

When coming up with cabincore design, one might ask, “Can I picture myself reading a good book with a cup of cocoa here?” If the answer is yes, you’re on the right track!

With busy 9-5 schedules and constantly evolving technology, many people crave a simpler, slower pace of life. The cabincore trend offers a way to unwind and appreciate the little things. It's no surprise that this trend is gaining popularity.
