This quaint little 18x18-foot one-room log cabin called the “Garden House” sits proudly in Spring Mill State Park, near Mitchell, Ind. It was donated to the park by the Michael Ferguson family and was moved from Doans, Ind., a small community in Greene County, to its current location in 1995. Originally, it was a home to Ferguson’s great-grandfather, who raised a family of 13 children in the cabin. In 1893, Ferguson’s grandfather was born in the cabin. An area called the “Pioneer Village” now surrounds it at the park, with several other structures indicative of the 1800s.
